Description
The combination of a narrow-wide chainring and clutch derailleur was supposed to eliminate the need for a chain guide. In practice, on demanding mountain trails, that combination alone is rarely sufficient — terrain irregularities, heavy landings and technical climbs still cause chain drop. The Piano ISCG05 was developed to fill that gap.
The backplate is CNC-machined from a single piece of 7075 T651 aluminium. The finned construction removes material precisely where it is not needed, resulting in just 23 grams — one of the lightest chain guides available for ISCG05 mounts. Guide plates are moulded from high-impact polyamide (PA6). Mounts to ISCG05 using 2 bolts — no crankset removal required. An additional set of guide plates for oval chainrings is included.
Compatibility
Compatible with frames equipped with ISCG05 mounts and e-bikes powered by Bafang M510 and M560 drive units — both use the same mounting interface, making the Piano alloy ISCG05 a single chain guide solution for conventional MTBs and Bafang-powered e-MTBs alike. Supports 28–36T chainrings, including oval.
