Description
The Piano Carbon ISCG05 was developed for riders who prioritise minimum weight without compromising chain security. At 15 grams, it is one of the lightest ISCG05 chain guides available on the market.
The backplate is CNC-milled from forged carbon — a composite manufactured from randomly oriented carbon fibre strands pressed under high heat and pressure. This process results in higher fibre volume content and greater variation in strand orientation than standard laminated carbon, delivering higher average strength at significantly lower weight. The final geometry is then precision-milled on CNC machines, combining the strength of forged composite with the dimensional accuracy of machined components.
The finned construction further reduces mass by removing material precisely where structural contribution is lowest. The result is a backplate that weighs a fraction of its aluminium equivalent while maintaining the stiffness required for reliable chain retention on technical terrain. Guide plates are moulded from high-impact polyamide (PA6). Mounts to ISCG05 using 2 bolts — no crankset removal required. An additional set of guide plates for oval chainrings is included.
