Description
The Molto Carbon L was developed for enduro and all-mountain riders who need maximum chainring and frame coverage on aggressive terrain — without the weight penalty that alloy construction requires at this chainring range. At 42 grams, it is lighter than most competing alloy options covering the 32–36T range, and lighter than any carbon bash guard.
The backplate is CNC-milled from forged carbon. Forged carbon is produced by pressing chopped carbon fibre strands into a mould under heat and pressure, creating a dense composite structure. The final geometry is then precision-milled on CNC machines — combining the formability of composite manufacturing with the dimensional accuracy of machined components. At the 32–36T range, the larger bash guard geometry benefits particularly from this process: the forged form can follow the chainring arc without the weight overhead that a comparable aluminium billet would require.
The foam insert on the chainring-facing surface dampens chain contact under suspension movement and rough terrain, resulting in silent drivetrain operation — a combination not found in competing carbon or alloy bash guards covering the 32–36T range at this weight. Mounts directly to the ISCG05 frame standard using 2 bolts. No crankset removal required.
