Description

The Piano S3/e-type & HDM was developed for frames where ISCG05 is not available — providing the same reliable chain retention in S3/e-type and High Direct Mount configurations. Like the ISCG05 version, it is designed to complement a narrow-wide chainring and clutch derailleur on trails where that combination alone is not sufficient.

Mounts directly to the frame standard without removing the crankset. For S3/e-type frames, chainline is adjusted using the included distance washers inserted between the tensioner and the frame. For HDM, the included carbon fibre washers allow adjustment across a 48.5–51.5 mm chainline range without adding weight.

Guide plates are moulded from glass-filled polyamide (Ultramid) — a PA6 reinforced with glass fibre, chosen for its higher stiffness and dimensional stability compared to standard polyamide. An additional set of guide plates for oval chainrings is included. No crankset removal required — installation takes approximately 5 minutes.
